MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2009 - 5 days flies when your having fun!
You woke up this morning,
Got yourself a gun,
Mama always said you’d be
The Chosen One...
I wake up to this Sopranos tune every morning as my cell phone alarm and it was no exception Monday morning... we had a time crunch because we had places to go and people to see.
Jason and I drove home after as my mom had to stay behind and start work. We went home and packed and got ourselves together for our travels. Dad came home around 3 to spend our last couple hours together. Shannon arrived just after 5 to pick us up; she was taking us back to the airport on her way back to Drayton Valley. When she arrived we said goodbye to my father and were on our way. Shannon had brought 2 prezzy`s (presents) one from her and one from Al. Al bought me a new Jodi Picoult (author of My Sister`s Keeper) book I hadn`t read yet –
The Pact; and Shan bought me the brand new and only 5th book by Dan Brown (author of The Divinci Code and Angels and Demons – great books) called The Lost Symbol. Oh boy I was sooo excited. My girls know me well even down to my favourite authors. We made it to the airport with very few minutes to spare before we had to be at our gate. Everything went smoothly though and we got on our plane and were off in the air before we knew it. Edmonton to Calgary is only a 35 minute flight. We had a short wait of about 30 minutes in Calgary and then were on another plane off to Abbotsford. It was raining when we arrived (haha big surprise) and thankfully I had gotten a hold of Kim earlier in the day to see if she could pick us up at the airport. Her and Raff were there to greet us as we unloaded ourselves off the plane and into the Abbotsford airport. It was nice to be greeted by friends.
We had such a good time at my parents and wished we could have stayed longer. We didn`t get home until 11:30 at night and were right pooped (it was 12:30 AB time) I fell asleep within 20 minutes!
A big THANK YOU to my parents for putting up with us and feeding us; to Shan and Al for being my girlfriends and visiting with us all week; to Auntie Colleen and Uncle Bob as well as Pat and Danny for their very nice and generous cards and to Irene for making me a beautiful crocheted blanket. Most importantly an even bigger Thank you to Jason`s Uncle Ken and family for giving us the funds to be able to go to Kitscoty in the first place.
